[twocol_one]Rosie is in love with Maca Powder. One of the benefits is increased libido – so I love that Rosie is in love with Maca powder.

What is Maca?
Maca is a cruciferous vegetable, its natural habitat are the mountains of South America. It looks identical to a turnip. Being rich in B C and E vitamins, along with getting a healthy dose of amino acids, calcium, iron, magnesium and zinc, it is very much the super turnip. It can also help sufferers of migraines, has antidepressant capabilities and helps balance estrogen levels. But guys don’t be put off by the E word (estrogen), it also gets busy boosting our testosterone levels resulting in extra energy for the day ahead.

What can it be used for?
In my opinion, it takes like nutty butterscotch… [/twocol_one]

[twocol_one_last]so it can be used on everything! But you might like to try it in smoothies and shakes, over your peanut butter on toast (personal favourite of mine) or even on salads to give a healthy taste palate for those sometimes boring bowl of leaves. I have recently tried it in my morning coffee, it works wonders for that extra motivation to have a healthy day. Imagine Maca Root syrup! Check out our Maca & Cacao Nice Cream and the Turmeric & Maca Superfood Latte to see how The Hungry Herbivores like their Maca!

Where can you find it?
As it mainly grows at high altitudes in the Peruvian Andes the majority of us won’t be coming across this in its natural habitat. But it’s easily found in plenty of health food shops.
