How To: Coconut Bacon

Ingredients
  • 1 cup Large Coconut Flakes
  • 1 Tbsp Coconut Oil
  • 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce (or Tamari for GF)
  • ½ Tbsp Maple Syrup
  • 1 tsp liquid smoke
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • pinch of salt
Instructions
  1. Pre heat your oven to 325C/160F/Gas Mark 3 and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Mix all the ingredients other than the coconut in a bowl. Then add in the coconut and mix to coat fully.
  3. Pour onto the baking tray and place in the oven for 7-8 minutes.
  4. Remove from the oven and shuffle and flip the coconut, place back into the oven for 6-7 minutes, until golden brown. Keeping an eye so they don't burn.
  5. Remove from the oven and let cool. They will crisp up once cooled.
  6. Use immediately or place in an airtight container for about a week
